So the
next question is 'what does it need to do?' As you lay out your
ideas and plans for the site, ask this question over and over. Any
proposals that do not fulfill or contribute to the basic function
need to be (at least temporarily) discarded. Your website will grow
in time if it is properly structured at the core, and you may be
able to incorporate some of these more creative ideas and
suggestions later if you have a good framework to which you can add
them. For the moment let's stick to identifying your basic Internet
function. It is tied closely to the basic function of your business.
